Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell is getting a little big for his britches when it comes to spending American money.
On Tuesday, the Kentucky lawmaker told reporters that the senate voted in favor of advancing the $1.7 trillion Omnibus spending bill, which is chock-full of special interest money blowing. Some of the nonsense includes sending $45 billion to Ukraine, allotting $7.5 million for LGBTQ programs, and funding for January 6 prosecution.
Where is the funding for border security? How about funding to get veterans off the streets? Funding to better our faulty voting system? Oh that’s right, there is none. Senate Republicans voted to give away money and power by going along with this ridiculous bill.
In an attempt to defend this monstrosity, McConnell told reporters that sending assistance to Ukraine is top priority for the United States right now….top priority for who? D.C.?
“Providing assistance for Ukrainians to defeat the Russians is the number one priority for the United States right now according to most Republicans. That’s how we see the challenges confronting the country at the moment,” McConnell said.

One would think that protecting our country and American citizens was the number one priority, right?
We should be allotting money to finishing the southern border wall that was started by former President Donald Trump to protect our own lands. The crisis at the border is only getting worse and nothing is being done to stop it.
President Joe Biden has NEVER even made a formal visit to the border during his entire political career. Two weeks ago he was in Arizona instead of taking the opportunity to at least do a drop in, he refused because he had “more important things going on.”
What is more important to the leader of a country than literally protecting the land he is leading?
As if that is not enough of a slap in the face, last week White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre assured reporters that President Joe Biden “has done the work” to secure the border….which is a flat out lie.
She said, “What Americans should know is that the president has done the work to deal with what we’re seeing at the border since day one.”
