Jan 6 Tapes Reveal Police Escorted ‘QAnon Shaman’ Through Capitol, Into Senate

Fox News host Tucker Carlson on Monday night’s episode of “Tucker Carlson Tonight” released previously suppressed security footage from the grounds of the U.S. Capitol building on January 6 that purportedly shows U.S. Capitol Police officers nonchalantly escorting Jacob Chansley around the Capitol complex and into the Senate chamber.

Chansley, a 33-year old Navy veteran, was nicknamed “QAnon Shaman” among members of the corporate press for the face paint, fur hat, and viking-style horns he wore to the protest in 2021.

“Virtually every moment of his time inside the Capitol was caught on tape,” said Carlson of the footage. “The tapes show the Capitol Police never stopped Jacob Chansley. They helped him. They acted as his tour guides.”

In the security footage released by the Fox News host, Capitol police officers can be observed guiding Chansley past numerous other law enforcement officers outside the Senate chamber doors. As Chansley walked by, the additional officers made no effort to apprehend him.

After escorting Chansley to few locked entrances to the Senate chamber, the officers ultimately helped him open another door and enter the room.

Then they escort him to various entrances of the chamber that appear to be locked. Eventually, they help him open a door, and he enters the chamber.

Chansley was charged with “obstructing an official proceeding” and sentenced to nearly four years in jail.

“The one very serious regret that I have [is] believing that when we were waved in by police officers, that it was acceptable,” the protestor said in an interview from jail.

In his monologue leading up to the security footage release, Carlson indicated that federal assets may have been acting as agent provocateurs covertly inciting violence among members of the protesting crowd.

“For more than two years, we have wondered why some in the crowd that day who seemed to be inciting violence were never indicted for it. We assumed these were federal agents of some sort. We still assume that,” Carlson said on his show prior to releasing the tapes.

“In fact, there were many examples of behavior that we saw in those tapes that didn’t seem to make sense. Men in civilian clothes holding doors open for protestors, escorting others through the Capitol, ecettera. We would love to know who those people were.”
