Kari Lake: ‘Powerful People’ Failed To Bribe Me Out Of Politics

Former Arizona gubernatorial candidate Kari Lake told an anecdote concerning “powerful people” that approached her home last week in a failed attempt to effectively bribe her out of politics while speaking at this year’s Conservative Political Action Conference at the Gaylord National Resort.

While informing CPAC attendees that her opponent, now-sworn in Arizona Democrat Governor Katie Hobbs, is “feeling the heat” from Lake’s ongoing election litigation, Lake told a story about how an individual showed up to her house a week earlier to “try to bribe me out of getting out of politics.”

“They tried to bribe me with a job title, with a huge salary, with a position on a board. This is how they do it,” Lake said. “This person standing before me was sent at the request of some ‘powerful people’ back east,” Lake added with air quotes.

“When I said no to this person, they didn’t take no for an answer. They said: ‘Well, what will it take? What is your price? How do we keep you out? Name your price’ — This really happened this week — ‘Name your price. All we’re asking for you to do is get out of politics for two years.’,” explained Lake.

Lake claimed that she told the individual to “let your handlers back east know that I can’t name a price because there is no price that I would sell out my country for. Not a million dollars, not ten million dollars, not a hundred million dollars.”

The Arizona Republican drew applause from the crowd, with one CPAC audience member shouting “we love you Kari!”

“I love you right back,” said Lake.

“This tells me that they do not want my name on a ballot again. And I have message: I’m not going anywhere,” she said.

In a CPAC poll that revealed who conservatives would like to become the next Vice President, Lake scored overwhelming support, leaving Florida Governor Ron DeSantis and former UN Ambassador Nikki Haley in the wake.

In CPAC’s presidential poll, 45th President Donald Trump won with a staggering 62 percent support, more than 40 points ahead of a notably absent Governor DeSantis, who received just 20 percent.

In delivering the event’s keynote address, President Trump vowed to “obliterate the deep state” and serve as “retribution” for Americans who were “wronged” by the Biden administration.

“In 2016, I declared I am your voice. Today I add: I am your warrior. I am your justice, and for those who have been wronged and betrayed, I am your retribution,” the former president stated.

“This is the final battle, they know it. I know it, you know it, and everybody knows it, this is it,” Trump said. “Either they win or we win. And if they win, we no longer have a country.”

“I will totally obliterate the deep state,” said President Trump.
