‘It’s All About Profit’: Woody Harrelson Once Clowned on Big Pharma With Bill Maher

Woody Harrelson and Bill Maher are making waves due to a newly resurfaced clip of a conversation between late night talk show and actor on the topic of large pharmaceutical companies’ role in the COVID-19 pandemic.

In the video, Harrelson slammed the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and “Big Pharma” over “profiteering” during the COVID-19 pandemic.

“I don’t like profiteering in war. You know? Think of the billions of dollars that are going to Big Pharma,” Harrelson said, drawing a comparison to COVID-19 and wars that have resulted in major corporations raking in massive profits.

“The last people that I would trust with my health is big pharma and big government,” he added. “Because none of those strike me as caring entities.”

“Spoken as the perfect redneck hippie,” Maher remarked. “It’s all about profit!” said Harrelson.

“They’ve done a lot of studies about Vitamin D, and how important it was when the people who had low levels, they were much more vulnerable to COVID. Why not tell people that? Can’t you make money selling Vitamin D?” Maher said.

Harrelson concurred, adding that the government’s suppression of alternative COVID-19 treatments like Ivermectin and Hydroxychloroquine were seemingly part of a Big Pharma ploy to get people vaccinated.

“There was only one thing, Ivermectin got made into horse tranquilizer, horse, you know, whatever it is,” said the Hollywood actor. “Hydroxychloroquine got made ridiculous and there was only one thing that could work, and that was the vaccine.”

“And ultimately because of that, billions of dollars was made,” Harrelson added.

Maher and Harrelson’s conversation came to light shortly after the actor caused controversy in last weekend’s episode of Saturday Night Live, where Harrelson claimed to have read a script that could be viewed as an allegory to the government-corporate response to the pandemic.

“The biggest drug cartels in the world get together and buy up all the media and all the politicians and force all the people in the world to stay locked in their homes, and people can only come out if they take the cartel’s drugs and keep taking them over and over,” Harrelson said.

“I threw the script away. I mean, who is going to believe that crazy idea? Being forced to do drugs? I do that voluntarily all day long,” the actor joked.
