As Marine veteran Paul Whelan sits in Russian prison on accusations of espionage, traitorous WNBA star Brittney Griner is back on American soil just in time for the holidays. What a slap in the face.
Griner, who was arrested on drug charges after taking marijuana into Russia, has made it clear just how much she hates the United States. Therefore, many Americans are confused as to why President Joe Biden would exchange Russian convicted arms dealer Viktor Bout for her, rather than Whelan.
“[Griner] is safe. She is on a plane. She is on her way home,” Biden announced during a press conference on Thursday. “Brittney will soon be back in the arms of her loved ones and she should have been there all along.”

Whelan’s family is distraught, calling the situation a “catastrophe” because the U.S. just gave away the only leverage we had to free him.
On Thursday, NBC News reported that the family was made aware of the impending swap for Griner so that they could “prepare” themselves for the disappointment of not receiving Whelan back.
Whelan’s brother, David Whelan, said in a statement that while he can “literally only imagine the joy [Griner] will have, being reunited with her loved ones, and in time for the holidays,” the inability to also bring Whelan home remains difficult for the family to process.
“That early warning meant that our family has been able to mentally prepare for what is now a public disappointment for us. And a catastrophe for Paul,” David Whelan said. “I do not know if he is aware yet, although he will surely learn from Russian media.”
WHY would Biden trade a high-level prisoner (and who knows what amount of cash) for a crybaby who disrespects our flag?? Griner could have rotted in that prison for the rest of her life and the United States would have been better off for it.
This decision truly reflects the Biden administration’s preferences. They would rather save Griner (a black, lesbian woman who protests our national anthem) over Whelan (a middle-aged white man).
