On Monday, CNN host Don Lemon declared that the network shares legitimate news, and that there is “nothing fake” about it.
The best part is that is he kept a straight face while saying it! I applaud his impeccable acting skills as he defends a network literally nicknamed the “fake news network.”
Filmmaker Andrew Callaghan appeared on “CNN This Morning” with Lemon to discuss his upcoming documentary “The Palace Rules,” which is set to debut on HBO at the end of the month.
The film touches on media, 24-hour news cycles, and even the January 6th protest at the Capital. In one small part, Callaghan has a conversation with Proud Boys leader Enrique Tarrio, who is currently facing conspiracy charges related to the riot.
That seemed to be the only thing Lemon was interested in, and hackled Callaghan about the conversation.
“The movie’s not just about like the Capitol riot and all that,” Callaghan replied. “It’s also about like media echo chamber and like the dangers of the 24-hour news cycle.”
“And how, I think, mainstream media — like Fox and even CNN — competes for views by running constant 24-hour news cycles based upon fear, division, outrage, and panic, probably to sell ads,” he continued.
Lemon did not like that answer and immediately shot back, “There’s nothing fake about CNN!“

That is just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to fake news being pumped out of CNN.
