Biden Invites Drag Queen to Attend ‘Respect for Marriage Act’ Signing

On Tuesday, President Joe Biden invited a drag queen who performs for children to attend the “Respect for Marriage Act” signing at the White House.

Never in my life would I have expected to the hear words “drag queen” in the same sentence as “children” and “respect for marriage,” but here we are.

Drag queen activist Marti Cummings posted on Twitter to celebrate his invitation. Despite his account being private, Libs of TikTok were able to share his post which read, “To be a non binary drag artist invited to the White House is something I never imagined would happen. Thank you President & Dr. Biden for inviting me to this historic bill signing. Grateful doesn’t begin to express the emotions I feel.”

GAG.

Cummings is a self proclaimed “drag artist, television personality, and political figure.”

“Throughout their nearly decade long drag career Marti has been a regular fixture in the nightlife world performing up to 6 regular shows a week,” he website describes. “They have sold out concerts at 54 Below, Lincoln Centers Big Apple Circus, Dixon Place and regularly tour the world with Atlantis Cruises.”

However, when he is not busy doing night shows, Cummings also apparently finds time to attend story time at the library, and shares photos of himself surrounded by children at the “family friendly event.”

“I love doing Drag Story Hour. Despite what conservatives say, this family friend event is a way to spread joy, teach acceptance & love,” he wrote in the photo caption on Instagram. “A way to bring people together. Kids just want to hear their favorite stories…keep spreading hate because I’m gonna keep spreading joy.”

Am I the only person seeing the problem with drag queens attending “family friendly” events to perform for literal children?

As an ADULT, if you want to go watch drag queens perform or want to dress up as one yourself then do your thing. That is your personal, adult life. However, the line has grossly been crossed when children are thrown into the mix.

I won’t even allow my children to watch newer episodes of Blues Clues which now include a drag queen, let alone let them be in the presence of a man dressed up like a woman in person.

Let children be children! There is absolutely no reason why they should be exposed to such sexualized content.
