Virginia Gov. Youngkin Has 1% Support Among GOP Voters After Trump Feud: Poll

With just one year before the highly anticipated Republican primary election, Virginia Governor Glenn Youngkin’s fabled 2024 presidential aspirations appear to already be dead in the water after the former Carlyle Group co-CEO failed to reach even 2 percent support among voters in recent polling.

According to a recent poll by Fox News, over 99 percent of Republican primary voters indicated that they would rather see someone other than the Virginia governor become the 2024 Republican presidential nominee.

Youngkin’s incredibly low ratings come after his administration publicly blamed 45th President Donald Trump for the Republican midterm performance, which was incorrectly predicted to be a “Red Wave.”

A public feud between President Trump and the Virginia Republicans began after Youngkin’s number two, Virginia Lt. Governor Winsome Sears, abruptly told anti-Trump Fox Business host Neil Cavuto that she believed the former president is a “liability” to the GOP, despite President Trump carrying her and her boss across the electoral finish line with an endorsement ahead of the November 2021 gubernatorial election.

“When we look at the mission, and as a marine we’re looking at the mission, and you know, the voters have spoken and they want a different leader,” Sears said.

“And a true leader understands when they have become a liability.” She claimed, “A true leader understands that it’s time to step off the stage, and the voters have given us that very clear message.”

“The voters are saying enough is enough,” Sears said, adding that she “could not support [Trump]” in 2024.

Despite Sears’ misleading assertions concerning the former president’s effect on the GOP’s midterm election results, President Trump’s endorsement rate was over 90% successful.

Notably, Most of Youngkin’s endorsees lost their elections all across America in the 2022 midterms — including two key House races on his home turf in Virginia, in which Republicans failed to defeat Democrat incumbent Congresswomen Abigail Spanberger and Jennifer Wexton in the states 7th and 10th districts.

“Never felt good about Winsome Sears. Always thought she was a phony. Now I find out she is,” President Trump wrote in a November Truth Social post linking to a Newsweek article titled “MAGA world enraged after Republican VA Lt. Gov. dumps Trump.”

“When I helped Youngkin with his race, Endorsed him, and made a Statewide TeleRally with hundreds of thousands of people on the call, he wrote me a very nice letter thanking me for the help, and then went on to say, ‘How to win without Trump.’ MAGA showed up big, but wasn’t appreciated.”

“Sorry, Winsome, and Glenn, but we can’t let that happen!” the 45th President stated.

President Trump, who received 43 percent support, was overwhelmingly found to be the most favorable contender among a slew of less popular Republican hopefuls including disgraced former Congresswoman Liz Cheney (R-WY), former UN Ambassador Nikki Haley, Senator Tim Scott(R-SC), and former Secretary of State Mike Pompeo.

In second place with only 28 percent came Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, who informed Fox and Friends last week that he would be postponing his rumored presidential endeavours for the “next few months” to focus on his book tour and Florida’s fast approaching legislative session.
