Ramaswamy Calls on Tucker Carlson to Run for President in 2024

On Monday, Republican 2024 presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy called on newly ousted Tucker Carlson join the presidential rat race, claiming that he would be a “good addition” to the lineup.

“I think he’d be a good addition to the race,” Ramaswamy said during an interview with Politico. “I think someone should only do this if they feel called to do it, but I think it’d be good for the country if he got in, to be honest with you.”

He continued on to call Carlson “one of the smartest voices in the conservative movement,” who was willing to “defect from party orthodoxy when necessary.”

“There’s definitely a thought leadership vacuum in political media, across the political spectrum,” Ramaswamy added. “And Tucker was one of the great political thinkers and commentators of our time.”

On Monday morning, Carlson parted ways with Fox News Channel, despite being a top-rated host for the network. Fox released a statement announcing the departure, but described it as a mutual agreement. However, other sources have reported that it was “not voluntary” and Carlson was fired.

“Fox News Media and Tucker Carlson have agreed to part ways,” FNC’s statement read. “We thank him for his service to the network as a host and prior to that as a contributor.”

They added, “Mr. Carlson’s last program was Friday April 21st. Fox News Tonight will air live at 8 PM/ET starting this evening as an interim show helmed by rotating FOX News personalities until a new host is named.”

After his show on Friday night,  he signed off with the statement, “we’ll be back on Monday.” If you ask me, that’s not how he would have closed the show if he knew that it would be his last on the network.

Per Newsmax:

The New York Times reported Monday night that Fox Corporation CEO Lachlan Murdoch and Fox News Media Chief Executive Suzanne Scott made the decision to fire Carlson Friday night.

According to reports, Carlson’s senior executive producer also left the company.
