Here’s some shocking news for your day! The January 6 Committee officially withdrew their subpoena for former President Donald Trump to appear before Congress to testify.
Chairman of the January 6 Committee Rep. Bennie Thompson wrote a letter to Trump attorney David Warrington declaring that the subpoena issued to Trump in October is no longer being pursued.
Thompson wrote, “As you may know, the Select Committee has concluded its hearings, released its final report and will very soon reach its end. In light of the imminent end of our investigation, the Select Committee can no longer pursue the specific information covered by the subpoena.”
“Therefore, through this letter, I hereby formally withdraw the subpoena issued to former President Trump, and notify you that he is no longer obligated to comply or produce records in response to said subpoena,” he added. “We appreciate your engagement with the Select Committee on this matter.”
Trump posted on his Truth Social account in response to the letter, announcing that “the Subpoena is DEAD!”
He wrote, “Was just advised that the Unselect Committee of political Thugs has withdrawn the Subpoena of me concerning the January 6th Protest of the CROOKED 2020 Presidential Election. They probably did so because they knew I did nothing wrong, or they were about to lose in Court.”
Trump added, “Perhaps the FBI’s involvement in RIGGING the Election played into their decision. In any event, the Subpoena is DEAD!
He wrote exactly what I was thinking. The only reason they would withdraw the subpoena is because they KNOW they don’t have a winning case against him. Once again, Democrats and RINOs alike are forced to eat crow as their lies and deception have no foundation to stand on.
They withdrew for the exact same reasons they couldn’t go through with impeachment, although they tried twice. The truth always prevails. It may take a while to weed through the lies, but the truth ALWAYS comes out.
