On Thursday, President Joe Biden delivered a Christmas address at the White House, but left out the most important part: Christ!
He did not mention “Jesus” or “Christ” one single time during his speech.
This man claims to be a “devout Catholic” but can’t even mutter our savior’s name during the holiday that we celebrate his birth?? How can you speak about Christmas without ever mentioning the reason for the season??
“How silently, how silently, the wondrous gift is given,” Biden began, and noted that people celebrate a “child” born on Christmas, but never mentioned that child’s name.
He continued, “We look to the sky to a lone star, shining brighter than all the rest guiding us to the birth of a child, a child that Christians believe to be the Son of God.”
The president also referenced “peace” and “light” being at the heart of Christmas, but still not Jesus.
“That light is still with us, illuminating our way forward as Americans and citizens of the world, a light that burned at the beginning and at Bethlehem,” he continued, before taking a darker turn.
Biden changed course from Christmas to the “poison that has infected our politics.”
“I sincerely hope this holiday season will drain the poison that has infected our politics and set us against one another,” he said. “And look. Really look at each other. Not as Democrats or Republicans, not as members of team red or team blue, but as who we really are. Fellow Americans.”
Maybe the poison lies within the mirror’s reflection, Biden.
The president ended his speech with a call for “acts of kindness,” because “it might just be the best gift you can ever give.”
Many people immediately blasted Biden on Twitter for his lack of mentioning Jesus. One user wrote, “No mention of Jesus. Just says the child. What’s wrong, afraid that if you say Jesus’ name you will burst into flames?”
