On Tuesday, actress and Broadway star Patti LuPone appeared on The View and made the wild claim that she has “no idea what the difference is” between “our Christian right and the Taliban.”
Girl, what??
When asked what she thought about Florida Governor Ron DeSantis and the new heartbeat bill he recently passed, LuPone replied, “I don’t know why he’s doing this.”
She added, “And I said this before, and I’m going to get in trouble, but I have said this before, and it’s been in print: I don’t know what the difference between our Christian right and the Taliban is. I have no idea what the difference is.”
“I just don’t know what the difference is. What’s happening in this country right now in the name of religion is so dangerous,” the Heist star exaggerated. “And it’s not this country. It’s not America.”

If she truly can’t tell the difference in a terrorist group that brutally murders people, and a legislation being passed to literally save lives of unborn humans, then she needs more help than we can give her.
Being pro-life isn’t a Christian thing. It’s just a basic human decency thing. Like hey, maybe don’t murder your unborn babies because they have the right to live too.
Maybe she should worry more about that awful bowl cut than DeSantis and Christians saving babies.
LuPone went on to address people calling the United States an experiment. She said, “When I was growing up, I didn’t know America was an experiment. They never said America was an experiment when we were growing up.”
“It was a democracy. And now it’s in such danger,” she continued. “It’s so upsetting. And it’s upsetting to hear the loudest voices and not any kind of pushback to the loudest voices that are the extremity in this country.”
It was then co-host Sunny Hostin turned LuPone and gushed, “Well, that’s why we need people like you.”
Gag.
