Hello Vince,
I’d appreciate a brief opportunity to speak with you regarding the ongoing efforts to restore parents targeted under Merrick Garland’s DOJ, who continue to face adversarial treatment and deliberate slow-walking by the agency.
On behalf of these families—and as a father myself—I respectfully request clarity on several key points:
- Is it acceptable that Senior Counsel to Todd Blanche stated to me in a January 23 meeting, regarding these parents, “We do not negotiate with terrorists?” [Voice recording below.]
- The same official also claims there is “no federal recourse” for us, despite clearly established federal culpability. Will the White House ensure DOJ fulfills its responsibility to provide meaningful remedy?
- By what authority was the Weaponization Working Group—established to address these issues—quietly shut down, halting the progress we had made with Ed Martin? [What evidence do we have that the WWG exists in more than name only?]
- Parents were promised a hearing with the AG back in October. Instead, the hearing was canceled indefinitely, after which AG Bondi claimed the targeting issue had been resolved. When will we have a fair public hearing?
- Parents were promised a formal apologyfrom the DOJ months ago, a symbolic step that could aid in restoring families and livelihoods. Why has this not been delivered?
- Is it appropriate for DOJ personnel to “blackball” certain parents based on perceived demeanor rather than evaluate each case on its merits?
I appreciate your time and consideration, and I look forward to your guidance on these matters. We have been patient, yet steadfast in our pursuit of real justice—not empty rhetoric. When we met, you were very sympathetic to this injustice, being a homeschooling father yourself.
On behalf of these families, we respectfully ask the White House to help bring meaningful resolution. Many continue to suffer the lasting consequences of still being treated as terrorists, when in reality they are among the most engaged, courageous, and committed citizens in the nation.
In all sincerity, and with enduring hope, I ask that this be addressed with the seriousness it deserves. It will be a huge win for President Trump.
Kind regards,
Kelly John Walker
P.S. I will make this letter public and share it with the media later this week, unless you prefer we discuss it privately first.
