Open Letter to Acting AG Blanche

Dear Acting Attorney General Blanche,

While I’ve been an outspoken critic of the U.S. Department of Justice since it first weaponized against concerned school parents under Merrick Garland in 2021, moves like this new Fact Sheet are worthy of unsolicited sincere gratitude. Thank you for acknowledging targeted parents and other victims of weaponization; thank you for putting an apology on the table. These are significant gestures, inspiring cautious optimism.

Our initial experiences with DOJ during the tenure of Pam Bondi did not inspire confidence—and poorly chosen rhetoric communicated to me by a DOJ official in January damaged our trust. But we can criticize ad infinitum or we can focus on solving the problem and grafting abused American families from all parties back into the American Dream.

Parents wish to say to President Donald Trump and family, to Capitol Hill representatives, and to administrators that an “already exasperated people,” as Sam Adams characterized founding colonists to British Governor Thomas Gage, are beginning to see a little light at the end of the tunnel, and many are willing to make peace and move forward if your administration makes that possible.

Parents Demanding Justice Alliance (PDJA) formally submitted a detailed Dossier of Targeted Parents last summer to the White House and DOJ leadership, documenting specific instances of federal weaponization. Indeed, targeted parents are explicitly listed in Executive Order 14147 as recognized victims of federal weaponization. We included a detailed valuation of damages for each parent, which should serve as an application for expedited relief. Please let us know what else is needed.

One thing I ask on behalf of these parents: please free up emergency funding NOW to triage the most desperate situations while the larger process unfolds. The need is urgent, and we have already lost despondent parents to suicide after years of struggle in the belief that “the government doesn’t care.”

We absolutely refute any partisan claims that this is a “J6 slush fund” and similar language. These brave parents, from all parties, attacked no one, were never federally indicted; yet, the Biden DOJ orchestrated a campaign of persecution with NASB, school boards and local authorities after they could find no “federal hook,” ultimately putting an FBI threat tag on dissenting parents, chilling free speech. This caused immense hardship and damage to families across America that continues today.

Those actions by the Biden DOJ, thoroughly documented by America First Legal and FreedomTalk are the essence of an “attack on our democracy,” by the government itself.

The nation is watching. Let’s give them a win.

Regards,
