House Republicans this week released a report calling January 6 protestors who entered the U.S. Capitol building violent “criminal rioters” and blamed former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) for security failures ahead of the massive election protest.
According to Just the News, Republican Reps. Rodney Davis, Jim Banks, Troy Nehls, Jim Jordan and Kelly Armstrong compiled a report that labels pro-Trump protesters who entered Capitol grounds on January 6 as “criminal rioters” who “assaulted police officers, broke into the U.S. Capitol, damaged property, and temporarily interfered with the certification of states’ presidential and vice presidential electors at the Joint Session of Congress.”
Aside from branding the crowd of frustrated and patriotic Republican voters as criminals, the report also highlights text messages and email exchanges which indicate that former Speaker Pelosi had a key role “creating and editing” the lackluster Capitol security plan ahead of the event.
“Prior to that day, the U.S. Capitol Police (USCP) had obtained sufficient information from an array of channels to anticipate and prepare for the violence that occurred,” the report stated.

“Leadership and law enforcement failures within the U.S. Capitol left the complex vulnerable on January 6, 2021. The Democrat-led investigation in the House of Representatives, however, has disregarded those institutional failings that exposed the Capitol to violence that day,” the report concluded.
Among other accusations levied against the protestors includes the allegation that, upon entering the Capitol building, the violent criminals accessed the Senate chamber, rifled through papers, climbed on the podium, and maliciously took selfies with their iPhones.
“RIOTERS BROKE INTO THE SENATE CHAMBER. THEY CLIMBED ON THE PODIUM, TOOK SELFIES, AND RIFLED THROUGH PAPERS IN THE ROOM,” the report says of the dangerous criminals in all-caps.
The report was authorized by House Speaker Kevin McCarthy, who just recently gave Fox News host Tucker Carlson over 41,000 hours of January 6 security footage that may contain evidence of federal wrongdoings and exculpatory evidence that may exonerate some Capitol defendants.
Following the news that Carlson had received the January 6 tapes, Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) said that “all” Capitol defendants would also receive the footage, which could ostensibly assist them with their legal defenses.
“J6 video tapes will also be available for all J6 defendants. All 42,000+ hours. Thank you Speaker McCarthy,” Rep. Greene claimed.
