Biden’s DOJ Tried to Crush Parents—Now, Justice Is Coming

By Kelly John Walker

In a country built on the principles of liberty and the right to speak freely, few could have imagined that American parents would be labeled as “domestic terrorists,” simply advocating for their children. Yet during the COVID-19 lockdowns and their aftermath, that is exactly what happened.

This isn’t just my story. It’s the story of countless families who found themselves in the crosshairs of a government that lost its way.

My wife and I opened a local coffee shop in Vail, Arizona, just before the world changed and the biggest health fraud in history destroyed lives. Our small business quickly became a gathering place for those seeking normalcy and human connection. We didn’t mandate masks; we treated people like responsible adults. And for that, we became targets. I was arrested at a Pima County Board of Supervisors meeting—handcuffed for standing up and speaking out.

Deadly Policies

But the real crisis wasn’t what happened to me. It was what happened to the children. While politicians and school boards enforced deleterious policies—and collected millions in federal money to do so—students were suffering. Isolated, silenced, and masked, they endured a mental health crisis that too many officials chose to ignore. Some kids took their own lives. Others fell into depression and despair. I know, because scores of parents came to me at our business, crying out for help. I was a witness to their heartbreak, and I chose to speak out and stand up for them as a fellow parent.

Shifting the Blame

Through Freedom of Information Act requests, I traced a chilling chain of events. Parents who challenged school mask mandates and harmful lockdown policies were hunted, surveilled, and profiled by the FBI. Vail, Arizona was at the epicenter. The documentation indicates that Vail Unified School District Superintendent John Carruth reached out to the National School Board Association. That contact was a key catalyst to the now-infamous September 29, 2021, NSBA letter to President Biden, calling concerned parents a threat, without cause or verification. Within days, Attorney General Merrick Garland issued a memo directing federal agencies to investigate and monitor parents. Just like that, a fraudulent, conscience-shocking narrative was born.

Peaceful parents were profiled, investigated, and vilified, while school districts continued cashing in on policies that were causing serious and documented harm. Youth suicide rates soared. Families were in crisis. Instead of listening, local leaders doubled down.

In one tragic case, a young boy from our neighborhood, locked into an abusive situation due to school closures, went out in the desert and shot himself dead. His story is one of many. I tried everything—writing articles, presenting data, testifying at board meetings—but the response was always the same: silence or suppression. Carruth’s administration, Merrick Garland and the Biden Administration targeted me with severe lawfare—I have the receipts.

Media Complicity & Lawfare

Then came the smear campaigns. The media ran with a false story that I had attempted to zip-tie a school principal. That never happened. I never even stood up or raised my voice. A judge who saw the video of the incident confirmed as much. But the damage was done. I was sentenced to jail time, fined heavily, and publicly humiliated.

We lost our home, our savings, our sense of safety, relationships… But we didn’t lose our commitment to the truth.

Since then, I’ve taken this fight to Congress. I’ve worked with others to compile evidence and build a coalition of parents, attorneys, and whistleblowers. And, now, I’m working on this issue with the Trump Administration.

This isn’t about revenge. It’s about justice. We want accountability. We want restoration for the lives disrupted and the trust that was betrayed.

Now is the Time

To those inside the system who still have integrity—this is your moment. Speak up. Tell the truth. Help us make it right.

Teachers, staff, administrators: Now is the time to come forward.

Media: Retract your lies.

Government: Make this right. Restore what was taken. Not out of charity, but out of the justice that is long overdue.

Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn once warned that burying evil only ensures it rises again. We must not allow the perpetrators to pretend this never happened. We must confront it and restore the Life, Liberty, and Pursuit of Happiness that was ripped away from me and my family—and many others—when our own government waged war on us.

We do not ask for pity, we demand accountability. We fight not for ourselves alone, but for the future of our children and this Republic. May the truth ring louder than the lies. May justice prevail.

This story is not over. May God bless our work on behalf of Truth and Justice.
